Most Dangerous Jobs 2011

The most dangerous jobs list comes out every year and in that list is often some dangerous jobs that surprise. You might be surprised to at some of the jobs on there. However, statistics don't lie. We could argue about statistics lying, but lets assume that these statistics represent a large enough sample size and aren't compiled in some arcane way such as the Nielsen television ratings or the Arbitron radio ratings.

You might ask how these jobs relate to insurance... Well, an insurance rate for certain coverage types will depend a great deal on your occupation. The obvious affect of dangerous jobs in relation to insurance coverage has to do with Workers' Compensation coverage. The more dangerous the job, the more likely you are to sustain an injury covered under worker's compensation. Your occupation will also affect your Life Insurance rate and in many cases will cause your policy to be rated higher, or declined altogether.

On a positive note, your dangerous occupation won't affect your car insurance rate, or home insurance rate.

Browse the list below and the next time you are giving grief to a roofer, sanitation worker, or a truck driver, please understand that they are in a dangerouse job without commensurate pay.
